However, you might not be aware of all of the wonderful Acuvue contact lenses benefits. And even though there are a wide range of types of contact lenses specially designed for different eye problems, the Acuvue contact lenses are available in many types to fit even the most difficult eye problem. The line of Acuvue contact lenses includes Acuvue lenses for astigmatism, toric lenses, colours, bifocal, daily wear, extended wear, disposables, and the like. Regardless of your eye care needs, you will find what you need with Acuvue contact lenses.
What is the difference between Acuvue and Acuvue2
The basic difference between Acuvue and Acuvue 2 is the thickness of its design. This design difference makes acuvue2 easier to handle. However, if you are currently using Acuvue lenses the difference between Acuvue and acuvue2 may not be sufficient enough for you to switch lenses.
In addition, the Acuvue base curve is different from the Acuvue 2 base curve. The Acuvue lens comes in a base curve of 8.4 and 8.8. The acuuve2 comes in a base curve of 8.3 and 8.7. The base curve is the curve of your cornea and trying on the lenses is the best way to determine if it fits comfortably.
However, the main difference between Acuvue and Acuvue 2 appears to be the ease with which the lenses can be handled. The Acuvue lens that is so comfortable to wear because it is so thin is also difficult to handle, especially for first-time users. It is thin and floppy thus making insertion into the eye difficult. The Acuvue 2 lens is thicker toward the middle making it less floppy and therefore easier to handle.
As with any type of contact lens purchase you must have a prescription to purchase either Acuvue or Acuvue 2 lenses. Also it is important that you do not wear them longer that the stated amount of time, and replace them with new ones as directed. In addition, always follow the instructions for proper cleaning and storage of your lenses. This will ensure good eye health and reduce the risk of complications and/or infections.
