Pitch Black Color Contact Lenses

A pitch black contact lens is incredibly creepy because it looks like the wearer’s pupil has taken over the entire iris (the part that would normally be colored) and the sclera, the outer white portion of the eye.
Some sites offer everything from general vampire, goblin, dragon and werewolf eyes to specific character eyes, such as Lestat and Louis - Interview with the Vampire contact lenses.
Also available are eyes like the ones in the cult 1980s film Lost Boys, starring Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.
Beyond these standards are such wild styles as flames, "fantasia" (purple stripes), "Night Life" (which makes the entire iris white) and goth singer Marilyn Manson eyes, which come in two varieties of light blue and black.
Finally there is one called the Black Sclera contact lens, which is the closest thing available to a pitch black contact lens.
Black sclera actually covers the entire eye, including the white portion, not just the pupil and iris. This is the same look that the character Willow (played by Alyson Hannigan) was given during Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s sixth season. The drastic change in appearance was necessary to show her wiccan powers manifesting.
There are actually two main kinds of pitch black contact lenses.
Black-Out Contact Lenses
Natalie Del Pizzo discusses in an online article black-out contacts that turn the iris of the eye completely black. The iris is the round, colored part of the eye that differs from person to person. Black-out contacts can turn your blue eyes black.
Black Sclera Contact Lenses
The black sclera contacts actually cover more than just the iris. In fact, these lenses cover the majority of the white part, or the sclera, of the eyes. This creates an especially creepy effect as it makes the eyes look less human.
Cost
Generally speaking, contact lenses are not considered inexpensive. Color contacts are more expensive than non-color contacts, and specialty contacts may be even more expensive than general color contacts. Black sclera contacts can be expensive though.
Some Precautions
According to Coastal Contacts, consulting a doctor before wearing these contacts is imperative, especially the black sclera contacts as they cover such a large surface of the eyes.
